Echoes and Corona are both reverberations of Coming alive, being heard and admired. One is the Echo and the other is a Jewel. Anand International College of Engineering’s Annual Festival is all set to take things to a greater level this year. Dedicated to the celebration of creativity, the theme for this year is “Reverberation’s Unlimited”  Participants get an opportunity to display their skills and passion for everything under the sun.  So, whether you’re looking to win the first prize in the Blitzkrieg dances or just participate in the Ad Mad or it is the undercut in Robo War, There are no chances of you falling short at living it to the fullest. CULTURAL EVENTS

Battle-of-Bands

How it works:

The competition is to bring enthusiastic musical bands forward. The bands will be judged on the basis of song improvisation, crowd response, overall performance, technical ability and presentation.

Rules:

  • The competition will consist of 2 rounds.
  • Participants will get a maximum of five minutes to perform in the audition round. (10 minutes will be given for the setup and testing)
  • 3 bands will be selected for the final round where they will get maximum 15 minutes to perform. (10 minutes will be given for the setup and testing)
  • The band must have at least three musical instruments in their performance.
  • Participants must carry their own musical instruments such as guitar, keyboard, etc. Only drums and mikes will be provided by the college.
  • Any part of the performance should not be objectionable. The participant may get disqualified on the grounds of obscenity.

Jaadu-e-Alfaas

How it works:  

Kaafia, Kalaam sab ko salaam, kavitabananeka ab karo intezaam. All the creative poets grab the chance to present your kavita in your own style. The participant will be given a theme on the spot with 15 mins time to prepare. The one whose magical words win the hearts of the judges as well as whose presentation style impresses them Win.

Rules:

  • Participants will get maximum 15 minutes to write their Kavita.
  • No extra time will be allowed.
  • Theme once given will not be changed.
  • Poem should be self composed.
  • Poem can be in Hindi or in English. No language barriers.

Jaadu e alfaz

Sur-Sangram

How it works:

The competition targets the best singer (solo). The participant with the best vocal skills, biggest applause from the audience, good justice with music, best overall performance and song selection shall win the Competition of Sur-Sangram.

Rules:

  • The competition will consist of 3 rounds.
  • The participant will get 1.5 min max in the audition round to showcase her vocal skills.
  • 10 participants will be shortlisted for the second round where each participant will get a maximum of 2.5 min to perform.
  • 5 will be selected for the final round where they will get a maximum of 5 minutes to perform.
  • The singing will be performed on a karaoke track which will be carried by the candidate.
  • The selected song should not be objectionable. The participant may get disqualified on the grounds of indiscipline/obscenity.
  • Judges decision will be final in selection.

Tamasha

How it works:

Tamasha is an opportunity for students to direct and perform that they create themes. Students can showcase their creativity by designing their own scripts, props and costumes for their performances.

Rules:

  • Competition will consist of 2 rounds.
  • Participants will get only eight minutes in the audition round to showcase their acting skills.
  • 3 teams will be selected for the final round where they will get maximum 10 minutes to perform. (Extra 2 minute will be provided for stage preparations)
  • Number of stage of this event is two.
  • Each team must comprise of a maximum of 15 participants, excluding backstage crew
  • Participants in the team must be current students of the Institution.
  • Performance should be in English or Hindi.
  • There will be a preliminary audition before the final competition.
  • All performances must be void of profanity, vulgarity, nudity and obscenity. Use of these may result in lowered ranking or disqualification by the judges.
  • The judge’s decision will be final.

Shutter Up

How it works:

The competition is for talented photographers. The candidates will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, description, Emotions and number of likes on social media. The theme of the contest is “JOY IN ANAND-ICE”

Rules:

  • The contests are open for online submissions only, through the contest page.
  • Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses (i.e. 7 March 2019)
  • You may submit only one entry per category.
  • The photograph should be taken in the college premises only.
  • Basic editing, including colour enhancement, the use of filters, and cropping of the Photo(s) is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo(s).
  • Photos that portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content, including provocative nudity, violence, human rights and/or environmental violation, and/or any other contents deemed to be contrary to the law, religious, cultural & moral traditions and practices of India, are strictly prohibited and will be immediately discarded.
  • A participant who submits any such photos may be permanently banned, subject to Better Photography’s discretion, from participating in any future contests.

CHEHRE-PE-CHEHRE

 

How it works:

Participant shall paint his/her partner’s face using cosmetic paint which should reflect a general awareness message. Teams will be judged on the basis of creativity, theme and message description.

Rules:

  • Participants will have a maximum of 45 minutes to complete the task
  • The painting must reflect an awareness message followed by the brief description by the participant
  • Participants must bring their own paint colours, sketch pens and other decorative material required for the task

Paint the T-shirt

How it works:

Participant shaves to paint a plain white t-shirt which should be concept driven. Teams will be judged on the basis of innovative design, concept, eye-catchiness, craftsmanship and message conveyed.

Rules:

  • Participants will have a maximum of one hour to complete the task
  • The painting must reflect an awareness message followed by the brief description by the participant
  • Participants must bring their own paint colours, brushes and other decorative material required for the task.
  • Plain white round neck t-shirt is required to be brought by the team.

Rock the Floor

How it works:

The competition is for talented dancers (group). Candidates will be judged on the basis of dance technique, choreography, team coordination, stage presence, entertainment factor and expression.

 

Rules:

  • Competition will consist of 2 rounds.
  • Participants will get only three minutes in the audition round to showcase their dancing skills.
  • 3 teams will be selected for the finale round where they will get maximum 7 minutes to perform. (Extra 1 minute will be provided for stage preparations)
  • Participants must bring their own music and costumes ensuring that the music is the exact version of the performance music.
  • Dancing among the audience is not permitted.
  • Special stage or house lighting will not be provided for any performance.
  • Participants will be responsible to remove their props from the stage post-performance.
  • The performance/music should not be objectionable. The team may get disqualified on the grounds of obscenity.

Jam

How it works:

Just-A-Minute is an all round-fun event that is all about the control of the mind over the mouth. So fill the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds worth of impeccable English/Hindi and you would be the winner.

Rules:

  • You get a penalty if the competition objects on any of the following counts
  • The total time is sixty seconds, inclusive of all the time that all the speakers in a given round are allowed to speak.
  • Positive points for every second that you speak
  • Positive points for every correct objection
  • Negative points for every incorrect objection
  • The winner is the person with the maximum number of points at the end of the round.

Ad Mad

How it works:

The Ad Mad Show competition is an opportunity to bring out individual and collective talent of the students participating in it. The judgment will be based on participants creativity and stage presence skills.

Rules:

  • In this event, participants will have to produce an advertisement for a product/ service in a proper way which is quite appealing to the audience.
  • The ad prepared by the contestants must not contain any obscene words/any subject that hurts the feelings of a culture/language/religion/region.
  • Teams will be required to come up with innovative ads. Based on the creativity and how innovative the ad is, teams will be shortlisted by the jury.
  • Teams have to make a new product name, punch line and advertise the product/brand given to them.
  • The teams must bring with them the camera, digital camera and all the other equipment required by them for presenting their Advertisement.
  • Judging is done on the basis of the team’s creativity, customer appeal and stage presence.
  • Disobedience of rules may lead to disqualification.
  • Participants should bring the institute’s ID card along with them at the time of registration and must report on the scheduled time.

TECHNICAL EVENTS

   Junkyard Wars

How it works: Maximum of 4 participants shall construct a vehicle with the help of waste material. The judgment criteria will be based on creativity, appearance, stability and distance travelled by vehicle.

Rules:

  • Each team will be provided with waste material which will be used to make vehicle.
  • Waste can be used to add beauty to it
  • Time is given to each team to make their vehicle shall be 60

Reverse Engineering

 How it works

Maximum of two participants shall disassemble and assemble a Bicycle using extracted information. Teams will be judged on the basis of their effective working and time constraint.

Best-O-Waste

How it works:

The team will use the waste material to make the best out of it in terms of minimizing the waste product, conserving Resources and Enhancing Environmental Quality by reducing the Pollution occurring in Nature. Judgment will be done on the basis of creativity, stability, utility, appearance and explanation of the product.

Brick Tricks

How it works:

Mere watching, from your nearby structures you may find it easy to construct an arch, and if you think so then try in arch making using brick and concrete. The judgment will be based on FINISHING OF ARCH, holding of weight capacity and Rise of the arch.

Struct-O-Bridge

How it works:

Competition is between skilled participants, to construct a Bridge with the given specifications and material. The judgment will be done on the basis of highest Load Carrying Capacity of the Bridge, appearance of the Bridge and time constraint.

Rules:

  • The no. of participants in a group shall not exceed three.
  • Sticks will be provided by the college.
  • The no. of Sticks given to each group will be 150 if found more than that the group will be disqualified.
  • The span of the Bridge Should not be less than 30 Cm.
  • Length x Width x Height = Span > 30 Cm x 10 Cm x Height upto you.
  • Chart paper is given to you as a Base.
  • Only 2 sticks in parallel are allowed.
  • Time allotted is 1½ hours and 2 hours for drying and ½ Hour for inspection.
  • The participating team may come with their own Scissor & clips (to hold the posted members together).

Vasco Da Gama

 How it works:

Participants shall assemble at the Starting Point. One player is given a note with a compass course and a distance, measured in steps. This clue leads to the first waypoint, and second note consisting of 7 compass bearing leading to the next waypoints. At the end is a final “treasure” to discover.

ROBO WAR

How it works:

The competitors bring their robots ready to battle and are pitted against their competitorsrobots in one-on-one matches where the aim is to push the opponents robot off the arena and scoring maximum points. The robots can be Manual or autonomous.

Rules:

  • The competition will be played on a knock-out basis consisting of 2-3 players at a
  • The maximum duration of each round will be 5
  • The machine would be checked for its safety before the competition and would be discarded if found unsafe for other participants and

ROBO RACE

How it works:

Construct Your Machine to have the maximum speed to beat another machine on the given track to reach the final destination in minimum time. You have to build a manually controlled robot capable of traversing over different terrain and hurdles.

Task:-

  • The robots build by given dimension and specification will be allowed for game.
  • The rounds will be decided according to groups participated.
  • The robot which has minimum time will be the winner.

Rules:

  • The team should not consist of more than 3 members.
  • Each member from same college is not mandatory.
  • The robot should follow the robot specifications provided. Any deviation from the mentioned specifications will lead to disqualification.
  • Once the race begins, two hand touches are allowed, if your taking hand touch you have to start from last check point.
  • No test practice will be allowed on the main arena.
  • The arena may subject to change before the commencement of any round.
  • The robot should not damage the arena.
  • No team should make use of any offensive techniques like fire or chemical means.
  • The robot must not leave behind any of its parts during the run; else it will result in disqualification.
  • Bots are not allowed to fly or jump.
  • Internal combustion engine cannot be used.
  • The person who have made the robot should be able to explain the circuit and the program uploaded (if any).
  • The decision of the judges will be final and abiding. Argument with judges in any form will lead to the disqualification of the team.Robot Specification:-
    • Lego kits are strictly not allowed.
    • The l*b*h should not exceed 25*25*25.
    • Net weight 3kg.
    • However a total of 5% is acceptable.
    • No adjustment is allowed during the run.
    • Maximum voltage will be 12V.

Sparkling Minds

How it works:

Behold the power of knowledge, Here comes the mind sport, wherein the players, either as individuals

or in teams attempt to answer questions posed to them correctly, Blast your mind over your opponent

and win the title of sparkling Mind.

General rules:

  • Each team would consist of two members.
  • Questions from Basic Science, Entertainment, History, Sports, Education, Research will be asked.
  • Registration fee is Rs. 50/- per student.
  • Mobiles or any gadgets are prohibited during the quiz.

 

FIRST ROUND

  • There will be a written test for the screening.
  • 40 question will be there in the written exam. Each question will be carrying 3 marks and 1 Negative mark will be given for the wrong answer.
  • Top 12 teams will advance to the next round.

 

SEMIFINAL ROUND

  • Each team will be given two minutes and questions will be asked during this time.
  • Each team has to give maximum answers in this time.
  • Maximum 15 questions will be asked from each team.
  • Top three teams will advance to the next final round.

 

FINAL ROUND

  • It will be a buzzer round. The team has to press the buzzer in fastest time if they know the answer.
  • Identify the Blur Pictures (Scientists, Politicians, Celebrities): 5 min.
  • Spelling game (Technical words, Nontechnical words): 5 min.
  • Tell the movie name ( A clip (song/dialogue) will be played and they need to tell the movie Name): 5 min.
  • Tell the song (A mute video of song will be played): 5 min
  • Knowledge test (Questions on GK/Tech./Sports): 5 min

Aqua Rocket

 How it works:

Maximum of three participants shall construct an Aqua rocket with the help of one used plastic bottles and the bicycle pump. The rocket can be launched at any angle. The judgment criteria will be based on creativity, appearance, the stability of the rocket and Maximum horizontal and vertical distance covered.

  • Each team will be provided with 1 plastic bottle, 1 cutter, 1 tape and a manual air pump to

Bull’s eye shooting

How it works:

It’s simply a shooting game which will be done under the guidance of legend shooting range team, Jaipur. Peep sight air rifles of Olympic standards will be used from a 10-meter distance. 3 to 5 lanes will be set up with separate rifles along with their stands. Target will be set at a 10-meter distance with concentric rings which will show our scoring after taking a shot. Peep sight rifles are actually different from open sight, at international shooting level peep sight rifles are preferred as they show more accuracy. In these peep sight rifles we have to look through the circle and ultimately we have to make this circle concentric with the target circle, more the circle concentric will hit the shot closer to the bull’s eye.

Rules:

  • Each student will be provided with a total 10 shots from which 5 shots will be for practice sessions and other 5 shots will be counted for scoring.
  • Each participant will have to shoot from a 10-meter distance.
  • 60 seconds for each shot will be provided.
  • Scoring will be done in 5 shots, maximum 10 scores for each shot. Out of 50 scores will be counted at the end.
