Introduction
When it comes down to it, nothing quite beats the impact of a good speech. History has been punctuated byriveting speeches delivered by charismatic leaders/public figures; immortal words shaping the future of their people. Whilst we cannot hope to mimic these speeches, we can hopefully imbibe a fraction of their greatness into our own original delivery via declamation – which refers to an impassioned speech, delivered in a formal setting.

Introduction
Poetry has always meant such vastly different things to different people. For some, it is a break away from traditional prose, an act of rebellion in the face of stringent, daunting paragraphs. For others, it is the closest bridge between the emotional state of a human mind, and words – an alliance between the two like no other. Whatever your personal equation may be with poetry, we are here to celebrate it – language no bar. We present to you two events – Slam Poetry and Kavi Sammelan – to cherish poetry in motion, figuratively and literally!
