Anand Literary Festival

“What is wonderful about great Literary is that it transforms the man who reads it towards the condition of the man who wrote.”

— E.M Forster

We could not be more delighted to welcome you — the reader — to the very first Anand Literary Festival. What started with the seed of an idea — to celebrate the storytellers, the budding poets, and the gifted orators within all of us — has finally grown into a mighty tree, and the fruits it bears are for all to enjoy!
Whether we actively notice it or not, language and Literary have always been present in our lives, like understated fragrances drifting through the air; waiting to be noticed. The stories we tell — of ourselves, to ourselves and to others — all carry with them a flair for narrative akin to the greatest of the greats found across all human history. All one needs, then, is a platform to showcase their prowess — someone to cheer them on as their story begins.

And that is where we come in.

Welcome to the Anand Literary Festival!

From The VC’s Desk

Explore, Explore, and Explore- is the one motive that one should always ignite in his/her heart. Exploration is a path one should tread on to identify, embrace, and showcase budding or born talents. Anand International College of Engineering is a conspicuous example of this notion. Innumerable extra-curricular activities, along with the ardent teaching pedagogy, are the bosom of AnandICE. The zealous motive of the college is to provide a platform where the students should not miss any boat to transform their personality from fainthearted to confidante.
With this enthusiastic motive, this time the college is giving a platform to Literary Lovers. Yes!!!! You have heard it right, Literary Lovers! Being a technical college, we resolutely assert that life is speechless without words. Life is a cycle of expressing emotions and thoughts, and the School of Life Long Learning brings the very first Anand Literary Festival; events range from Speller Champ to Lights, Camera, and Actions; aiming to exchange intellect and information among the debaters, poets, speakers, dramatists, and the list is endless. The festival promotes creativity and intellectual development of the students; the love for books carrying human nature; exploring their hidden talents; last but not the least, to develop networking among the diverse students.
With open hearts, we immeasurably and wholeheartedly welcome each one of you to exhibit your literary flairs at Anand Literary Festival with your incredible dexterities and indubitably taking away a lot of learning and fun.
Welcome Buds!
Best Wishes.
Monika Mittal Agarwal

A Word from the Department

Dear Participant,
“The School of Life Long Learning, Anand ICE, Jaipur has no tangible limits”.
This notion demonstrates that the school is magnanimously transforming the personalities of our students theoretically as well as practically with no set boundaries. We have a cat-like response to any challenge that is thrown at us.
We were established in the year 2010, with the sole intention to impart the skills and the art of survival to engineering students in a massive professional scenario that is reckless and ruthless. Hence, one gets to see a bullish side of training and development often at AnandICE.
The other side of this set-up is a soft and caring set of personnel who tend to understand why people require engagements and how events and festivals help them to qualify for a better and healthier future.
Going by this measure, we are delighted to announce the very first “Anand Literary Festival" 2022, which is our promising endeavour, as an intellectual yet artistic team, to bring a platform to the class of dramatics, poets, orators, intelligentsias, and endless literary artists to disport their knacks in this sizzling one day of ultra-activity.
The festival promises fabulous cash prizes and a tete-a-tete with a renowned radio jockey, RJ Rohit (91FM). We promise you the best of eateries at food stalls, finest readings at the book stalls, and plenty of electronic gadgetry to win as prizes.
We, promise you a day filled with plenty of ancillary fun and frolic that would create magic never weaved before.
Come and see for yourself, what a little yet sterling creativity with mega-events can do.
We look forward to your coming and having a great day.
Best Regards
School of Life Long Learning
Anand ICE, Jaipur.

Introduction

A spelling bee needs no extensive introduction — for it is so deeply ingrained in our collective consciousness that it is instantly recognizable! A staple across schools, colleges and festivals, this event puts an often underrated but crucial skill — that of spelling — to the test, one vowel and consonant at a time! A spelling bee not only pushes one to think of words critically, but it also breeds familiarity with language unlike any other. Spell your way to the top!

Introduction

It is perhaps no surprise that most great orators are first and foremost great debaters – human existence is rife with intricacies and complications; indeed, the world and the issues it harbors are not quite clearly black and white.
It is through debate – and by extension, debating– that these intricacies have been explored, dissected, and understood. To be able to discuss your stance on an issue - in a structured and civilized manner - is a skill we all need.

Introduction

When it comes down to it, nothing quite beats the impact of a good speech. History has been punctuated byriveting speeches delivered by charismatic leaders/public figures; immortal words shaping the future of their people. Poetry has always meant such vastly different things to different people. For some, it is a break away from traditional prose, an act of rebellion in the face of stringent, daunting paragraphs. Whatever your personal equation may be with poetry, we are here to celebrate it – language no bar. We present to you two events – Slam Poetry and Kavi Sammelan – to cherish poetry in motion, figuratively and literally!
