Two-Day Sports Meet Organized at Anand International College of Engineering

A two-day Sports Meet was successfully organized at the Anand International College of Engineering. The event was inaugurated by Olympic athlete Shagun Chowdhary, a prominent Indian trap shooter and the first Indian woman to qualify for the trap shooting event at the Olympics. Having represented the country at the 2012 London Olympics, the Rajasthan-based athlete is a multi-time national champion and an Asian Games medalist. Addressing the students, Ms. Chowdhary remarked, “Small efforts and consistent participation in local sports are what lead athletes toward achieving great heights.”

Highlights of the Event

The campus was filled with immense energy and enthusiasm as students participated wholeheartedly. The echoes of “Kabaddi-Kabaddi” and the cheering from the crowd made the competitions even more thrilling. The Sports Meet featured a wide range of disciplines, including: Outdoor Games: Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Throwball.

Athletics: Various track events and Cross Country.
Indoor Games: Badminton and other indoor sports.
Notably, there was a significant representation of female students across all sporting
events.

Closing Ceremony & Winners

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony led by the College Vice-Chairperson, Ms. Monika Mittal Agarwal, who presented trophies and medals to the winning teams. In her address, she highlighted the importance of sports in a student’s life:
“Along with academics, one must lean toward sports. Sports play a vital role in student life, fostering both physical and mental development.”

Dominant Performers: The 2nd-year teams emerged victorious in Kabaddi, Cricket, Throwball, Volleyball, and Football.
Best Sports Person (Male): Dushyant Chaudhary
Best Sports Person (Female): Rimjhim Sharma
All winning teams and individual athletes were honoured with Certificates, Medals, and Trophies. The event was attended by Principal Prof. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Vice- Principal Prof. Praveen Agarwal, Chief Coordinator of the Activity Center Er. Pramil Sinha, Sports Officer Mukul Singh, along with the college faculty and staff.
