We aim to provide our students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that helps them to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, serving the society at large and efficiently addressing its multifarious needs. At the end of our program, students are ready for entry-level work as a mechanical engineer also becoming proficient in automation domain, where a sound engineering background constitutes the most desirable foundation. Academic curriculum, additional courses, workshops, in-house experimental set-ups, assignments and projects are designed to endow students with an ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics, principles & practices of mechanical engineering and automation.
SAME is continuously striving to achieve excellence in education, academic and industry oriented research in Automation and Mechanical Engineering. For this purpose, the school has identified three divisions -Mechatronics & Machine Design, Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering and Thermal & Automobile Engineering.
Mechatronics & Machine Design
Mechatronics is a combination of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer and Control Engineering. It has wide applications in Robotics, Nanotechnology, Automation, Aircraft engineering, Bio-medical systems and Space technology.
Machine design involves the use of imagination, scientific principles and engineering techniques to create a machine or structure economically. It also includes, analysis and optimization of a component using computer-aided tools.
Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering, also known as Production Engineering, involves the design, development, implementation, operation, maintenance and control of all processes in the manufacturing of a component. Within this context, a “product” is defined as an item that has value added to it during the manufacturing process.
Industrial Engineering deals with the optimization of complex processes, systems or organizations. Industrial Engineers work to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, man-hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value.
Thermal & Automobile Engineering
Thermal Engineering is the management of heating or cooling processes in an enclosed or an open environment, using various equipments. It involves the science of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer. The most common application is air conditioning (domestic and vehicular).
Automobile Engineering deals with designing, manufacturing and operating automobiles. It is a segment of vehicle engineering that deals with motorcycles, buses, trucks, etc. It includes mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety elements.
