SCHOOL OF BASIC & APPLIED SCIENCES

About the School

Welcome to the School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS), where curiosity meets discovery and innovation is fueled by a passion for understanding the fundamental principles of the universe. Our School is committed to provide a dynamic and transformative educational experience that prepares students to excel in both theoretical and practical aspects of the sciences.

The Physics Department stands as a shining example of our commitment to excellence in scientific education. Our department boasts a team of accomplished and dedicated faculty members who are passionate about both teaching and research. In the B.Tech program, the department imparts comprehensive knowledge on Modern Physics, Quantum Physics, Material Science, Optics, underscoring the significance of Physics in engineering. In regards to Chemistry, a branch of sciences that deals with the matter, energy, properties, and their relationship. The topics included in the curriculum of Engineering Chemistry such as water analysis, fuels, corrosion, lubricants, cement, glass etc. are very important for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical engineers. Engineers often encounter complex problems that require logical thinking and problem-solving skills and Mathematics provides the foundation for developing these skills and enables engineers to break down complex problems into smaller, manageable components. Engineers use mathematical models to represent real-world systems, whether they are designing structures, optimizing processes or simulating physical phenomena.

Message From The Head

The School of Basics and Applied Sciences is equipped with modern, state-of-the-art laboratories that provide students personal attention by the faculty members along with hands-on experience in conducting experiments, simulations, and research projects. These facilities enable students to apply theoretical concepts in a practical setting, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter. To boost up the academic skills and confidence of students in the learning process, SBAS conduct the Bridge Course of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for the new admitted students. The purpose of this Course is not only to bridge the gap between subjects studied previously and the subject to be studied in the B. Tech program, but also to clarify and revise the fundamental concept of topics. Our dedicated faculty members are more than instructors; they are mentors guiding students through their project-based learning journeys. With expertise spanning diverse areas of Renewable energy, Quantum Physics, Coding, Machine learning (Python) etc. our faculty members provide invaluable support, inspiring students to push the boundaries of their understanding and make meaningful contributions to their chosen projects. We are not just shaping the scientists of tomorrow; we are cultivating a community of learners and innovators who will contribute to the advancement of knowledge and make a positive impact on the world. Join us on a journey of exploration, discovery, and transformation in the fascinating realm of Science and beyond.
