The World of Careers After 12th: Opt Wisely

The World of Careers After 12th: Opt Wisely

As Indians, there are varied chances that we take while preparing for our Careers. There is rarely a focus on what we aspire to pursue. Our parents make scintillating discoveries about us even before we have learned to walk and they know surprisingly what profession the child would choose. So, It is no surprise that most of the children end up in jobs that never suited their temperament and are complete misfits.

Ironically, we have changed very little with time. Generations of Indians have lost out on what was best for them and a very few lucky ones knew it. A couple of decades back there were no opportunities in India Incorporated which unfortunately never existed and so the most preferred professions were either Medical or Engineering.

A few would dabble with the idea of making it to Indian Jury’s and some would go for the elitist of them all “The Civil Services”.

Those days were a complete blackout for a young man STRAIGHT OUT OF SCHOOL trying to get into the Armed Forces as the wages of Army Officers were negligible and it used to be hard getting SELECTED into an elite NDA program. Today these trends have completely reversed which is obviously a completely different story.

The IITs have been the mecca of every Indian parent which they have been romancing for decades and decades now. The poor science math student would be crushed under the father or mother’s ambition to beat the boy next door at his game. There were no professional tuitions and self-study or a fat-rimmed eyeglass-wearing math teacher in the colony would probably suffice as the only alternative. However, private options today are immense for students looking to pursue engineering from a city like Jaipur. The aspiring students can choose a degree program of their choice to graduate from an AICTE approved top 10 B-tech college in Jaipur.

There was a sudden rise of what was called the dream merchants in education. These businessmen had come up with pigeon box solutions to cracking the IITs and there was a sudden surge in the already frustrated big dream Indian parent to get their wards tutored and also professionally anchored in soft skills by the same teachers who till yesterday were school teachers teaching at the local school. Their avatars had now changed and they had taken to a completely altered aura that had escalated them to super teachers now earning unheard of packages.

The churning had started and virtually every city in India had some people claiming to be the guru that the students could look up to. The smallest towns were now buzzing with educational sleaze as well as some serious business growing all over. India was now home to a new generation called “The Wiz kids of the 21st century India”, The fact being that only a hand full of these kids were cracking the same old status symbols. But, there was undoubtedly a more aware and more confident pack of young people who were now daring to take a shot at the IITs and the medical entrance exams.

Steadily these new education entrepreneurs started giving results and they started cracking these exams big time. The rush to get their wards admitted to these super schools at exorbitantly high fee brackets became the call of the times for parents. Some cities like Jaipur had by now become hubs to this form of teaching and businesses bloomed in virtually all allied areas as well. Whether you talk about civil engineering colleges in Jaipur or RTU affiliated best colleges for Computer Science & Engineering in Jaipur or mechanical engineering colleges in Jaipur, the city has it all. Education in India incorporated was now not looking back because the stakes were extremely high.

Nothing was what it was till yesterday. The government of India vouched for the armed forces and brought in the 7th pay commission. The salaries of armed forces officers suddenly quadrupled and the sector opened up for the first time as one of the highest paying high adventure professions that guaranteed a gentleman’s life. The young men who wanted to live in the fast adrenalin secreting jobs were now applying and getting into the armed forces which required young people to join its cadres.

The best thing to happen here was that Indian women too were being recruited to become officers and this set off a trend.

Today there are hundreds of professional tuitions in the market claiming to be extremely well versed with the selection criteria and they are going ahead with training these enthusiasts for these services.

With the markets claiming expertise in helping the average Indian young men and women in getting into the best jobs all you have to do is pay the money and get the education and training required to get into India’s premier colleges for engineering in Rajasthan, medical in Delhi or your choice of college anywhere in the country.

You name it and there is a professional education set up somewhere in the country to assist you in getting your dream job. These centres have created hope for even the ones who had never heard of these options.

The private sector in India has grown very big post 1990 and the LPG era, India seems to be bidding for the top position among the emerging markets of the world and private engineering colleges in Rajasthan are not far in the list. The industrial spectrum is growing at a very rapid speed and the remuneration is perfectly commensurate with the kind of skill sets that a person may have. India is today a 489 Billion-dollar country backed by a robust democracy and strong partnerships.

India’s GDP is expected to reach US$ 5 trillion by FY25 and achieve upper-middle income status on the back of digitization, globalization, favorable demographics, and reforms. India may not have micro development like the European countries and it may lack the infrastructure to back up urban living even today, but it stands as one of the fastest-growing economies of the world. A country everyone is looking up to for guidance in spirituality and lessons in patience and wisdom.

21st century India is laden with jobs and many upcoming opportunities and very frankly speaking it doesn’t have the manpower equally skilled to take up these assignments. Take banking for example. India had just 14 nationalized banks till the early ’90s, today there are more than 20 private banks shelling out great customer service and top-notch technology to support it.  These services are open to anyone while the competition makes them even friendlier and investment-friendly. Banks are probably one of the biggest hirers for jobs today.

The Anand International College of Engineering is prima facie an institution, ranked among the best engineering colleges in Rajasthan, that has very closely guarded its spirit of research be it engineering in Mechanical or Civil or Computer Science or Electrical. Studies have always been based on concepts and principles thru extensive research. Apart from that the college also makes sure that the students undergo a 300-hour soft skills training program that runs parallel to the regular curriculum. This is completely free of cost and is crucial to the selection of the students by companies coming for campus placements.

Placements, to date, have been 100% and this department makes sure that every passing out engineer gets at least 2 offers to choose from. What more can a student ask for. The Anand-ICE as it is abbreviated doesn’t compromise on garnering the creativity of these young people because it has 14 clubs that exclusively cater to extracurricular interests and imbibe better teamwork.

The Laboratories at Anand-ICE are probably the most advanced as far as Rajasthan is concerned. No wonder why it is in the list of top 10 engineering colleges in Rajasthan and counted amongst the top 5 engineering colleges in Jaipur. This in turn makes sure that there are no technology lags once the students are professional engineers and on the shop floor.

Careers post 12th standard are in abundance and it is for the student to choose which would be the most appropriate assignment for him /her. Do you require levelling up of your skills in the various fields or do you require a complete specialization?  This is for the student to decide whether he wants to graduate from the best engineering college in Rajasthan or pursue a career in insurance or sports or media for that matter.

Actuarial sciences are also a very challenging field. It requires statistical skills and is one of the highest paying jobs in the world. There are very actuaries in the world and their job is to analyze and prepare financial plans for the finance industry. The Insurance and banking sectors depend heavily upon this personnel for their plans and products.

The insurance sector has great opportunities which were once limited only to the Life Insurance Corporation of India till the year 2000 today has more than 40 private insurers across the country belting out great financial plans and schemes for the average Indian.

These companies are offering great jobs to the deserving and everyone is getting benefitted. The life insured in India has gone up to more than 30 crores from just about 1.5 crores in the year 2000.

The entire Indian economy is one’s playground for a job hunt. If you have the preparation to meet the arduous and tough requirements of the government sector it’s entirely your privilege, otherwise, there is a completely equipped private economy waiting to give you high-value assignments.
